PC/ABS grade
Polycarbonate resin possesses excellent properties such as heat resistance, flame retardancy, and impact resistance, but its moldability is inferior compared to resins like ABS. On the other hand, while ABS resin has good moldability, it may not be suitable in situations where high environmental temperatures or strength requirements are needed for the parts. By alloying polycarbonate resin with ABS resin, it is possible to achieve a balanced combination of heat resistance, impact resistance, and flowability, which would be difficult to achieve with either resin alone.
At Sumika Polycarbonate, we offer the IM Series, which combines high flowability and impact resistance, as well as the IMA Series, which further improves both flowability and impact resistance based on the IM Series. Additionally, we provide PC/ABS-based grades with added functionalities such as anti-static properties and sliding performance.
